Datamark Changes Name to Helix Education Company Advances Technology and Big Data Solutions Across the Student Lifecycle

Datamark, a longtime leader in data-driven enrollment marketing, today announced that it has changed its name to Helix Education, reflecting its growth and expansion across the student life cycle. The company has broadened its technology and service solutions, which are underpinned by big data, to help schools find, enroll, retain and teach students.

“As Helix Education, we are redefining what it means to effectively support the needs of students throughout the entire education experience, making it more productive and meaningful,” said Matthew Schnittman, president and CEO of Helix Education. “There are so many opportunities to connect with and track students, from the first time they inquire about a program, throughout the admissions and learning process.  Through technology and big data, schools can gain greater visibility into each student’s progress. They can make better decisions – decisions that are relevant to students’ needs along the way – and in turn, achieve better outcomes.”

In 2013, the company acquired the technology assets of Altius Education with the intention of further developing the infrastructure. This includes enrollment management and student retention systems, as well as Helix, a competency-based online learning platform recognized by EDUCAUSE and the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation as a promising technology to support breakthrough learning models.

For more than 25 years, the company has helped colleges and universities create the foundation for successful student-school relationships by marketing to, attracting and managing student inquiries. Under the expanded organization, Helix Education will help schools further those relationships, admitting and enrolling students, engaging them in their coursework, and coaching and retaining them throughout their studies.

Schnittman continued, “Our goal is to help schools deliver a more personalized and supportive learning path – one that aligns students with the right programs and objectives from the beginning, one that takes into consideration individual strengths and skill sets, and one that provides motivation and encouragement.”
