Boston University is halving the cost of their online MBA through a partnership with EdX.
Reported by Inside Higher Ed, the new MOOC version of their master’s in business administration through EdX has a sticker price of $24,000, less than half of their traditional MBA.
The takeaway? BU is counting on the potential scalability of their MOOC to make the discount price make sense. The question is if employers will find equivalent value in this modality that costs less than half the price? And will the prestigious Boston University brand mean the same thing when the EdX brand is also attached?
