Will the pandemic expedite college closures or provide a federal relief life raft?

Reported by Higher Ed Dive, prior to the pandemic, many experts were predicting an onslaught of college closures. And despite one of the roughest enrollment years in recent history due to the pandemic, less than a dozen nonprofit institutions have closed their doors in the past year. But with three more liberal arts colleges closing this spring, including Becker College, Mills College, and Concordia College New York, those prognostications are coming out again.

The takeaway? Will federal relief aid for colleges slow the pace of immediate college closures, or will the rapid pace of college consolidation commence?
