Will a parental push toward practical outcomes change higher ed?

Reported by Inside Higher Ed, a new Kaplan University Partners survey finds that 79% of students believe a top goal of colleges is to teach students marketable skills, while less than half believe that colleges are doing a good job preparing their children for the workplace.

The takeaway? We need to do a better job as an industry as a whole and for our respective institutions helping to demonstrate both the economic and additional values of the degrees we’re providing. Because the parents often writing the checks are questioning it.
