Will other colleges follow Rutger’s vaccine mandate?

Reported by Higher Ed Dive, Rutgers University was the first institution to announce a vaccine requirement for students to be able to return to campus this fall. While requiring vaccination for on-campus learning is common at most institutions, COVID-19 vaccines are only approved by the FDA under an emergency use authorization, which potentially opens a legal opportunity to protest the mandate.

The takeaway? Will more or most institutions end up following Rutgers’ path? Will some require the vaccine not only for students but for employees as well? Will more students continue learning online to avoid returning? Will colleges with a mandate lose or gain enrollment because of it? We’ll find out.

May you continue to fight the good enrollment growth fight at your institution today, and we’ll see you again tomorrow.
