Will job automation lead to a new surge in employer education benefits?

Reported by Education Dive, a Bright Horizons survey of 30,000 workers showed that 52% of workers rank tuition reimbursement as their most desired employer benefit.

This is because workforce automation is no longer seen as a distant threat. With studies showing that automation will displace 75 million jobs by 2030, workers are already seeing it happen to their colleagues, and they can now viscerally imagine it happening to them.

The takeaway? Automation is an incredible opportunity for higher education to scream our reskilling message, to both employers, and their employees looking for increased job security. Are we telling this story well enough? Does your institution have a good enough story to tell?
