Will IBM help spin up new data science degree programs even faster?

Reported by Education Dive, IBM is working with the University of Pennsylvania and the Linux Foundation to build an open-source data science curriculum that any college can adopt. And once available, other universities will be able to contribute their own open-source materials for approval by the oversight committee.

The takeaway? A singular degree curriculum could be problematic, potentially too specific to IBM use cases. But doesn’t having 600 colleges all design their own data science curriculum from scratch seem even stranger?
