Where should fintech live at your college?
Reported by Education Dive, the growing popularity of artificial intelligence, big data, blockchain and cryptocurrency are all creating new curriculum and governance questions about cross-department collaboration for these emerging programs.
University of the Cumberlands chooses to split the courses from their global business and blockchain degree between the business and IT departments. While NYU is on track to add new technology entrance requirements to allow their graduate business degrees to be more tech-ambitious.
The takeaway? Adding these fintech courses may offer one potential solution for making the MBA and other business programs more relevant again. But with this becomes the question of where then these new classes should live.
