Reported by Inside Higher Ed, with campus closures, many students have started asking about their room and board fees. It likely won’t be long before some students ask for their tuition money back altogether – those who either don’t care for the remote experience, or from those looking for an excuse out anyway.

The takeaway? Many of our institutions are already running extremely tight or even under deficit budgets. If yours doesn’t have a financial policy regarding closures, or existent insurance policies that cover this sort of pandemic, tuition-driven institutions may be about to experience their most difficult challenge yet.
