Reported by EdSurge, Coursera has offered Coursera for Campus for free since March, to help colleges transition to online learning, offering their courseware to become part of an institutions’ for-credit courses.

The takeaway? What if a college used Coursera’s more than 4,000 existing courses to supplement their specialties? And what if a majority of colleges did this? Certainly some increased level of proctoring may be necessary to ensure student completion. But if every single college in America didn’t have to recreate the wheel of Gen Eds at their specific institution, but could tap into a greater shared resource? There’s something there.
