Steering Women Toward High-Pay Career Fields

While women beat out men when it comes to higher ed enrollment, women also hold a disproportionate two-thirds of the nation’s student-loan debt.

Reported by The Chronicle of Higher Education, women are also more likely than men to attend a for-profit college because of the online flexibility offered, and end up making less than their male counterparts as well.

The takeaway? We need to do a better job counseling students on the front-end to make sure we’re properly accounting for their financial situation and aligning them with a career field that makes sense from both a lifestyle and debt-payback situation as well.
