Six More Institutions are Partnering with edX to Offer Affordable Online Master’s Degrees

Six more institutions are partnering with edX to offer affordable online master’s degrees.

Reported by Inside Higher Ed, edX is launching nine new degree programs with institutions including Indiana University, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of California San Diego, and Arizona State University.

Two of these degrees price in at $10,000k or under, including a master’s in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s in cybersecurity from Georgia Tech.

The takeaway? If affordable MOOCs can be proven to successfully scale, while still providing a high-quality of education, that could have major price implications for the business model of higher education.
