Just a friendly and terrible reminder that higher ed was already struggling before the pandemic.

Reported by Education Dive, a lack of governmental funding, enrollment pressure, affordability concern and a growing volume of student mental health issues was already creating incredible difficulty before a global pandemic came in to add chaos to an existing crisis.

So while today we’re using terms like ‘survival mode’, many institutions were already there.

The takeaway? With huge revenue swings very likely this fall, major changes are coming for higher ed, not only from on-ground to online, just now more quickly than ever.
