Our Expanded Executive Committee Links Familiar Faces

It’s always nice when your path crosses with that of a previous colleague who you respect, but it’s especially nice when you actually have the opportunity to work together again.

I’m excited to announce that John Dobbertin has come on board as General Manager of Enterprise Services, and Carey Hilderbrand, has assumed the role of General Manager of Marketing Services. Knowing their work ethic and track record from our time at eCollege, I feel very fortunate to add their talents to our already strong team.

John comes to us from Pearson eCollege where he has spent the last 15 years heavily involved in IT, production and infrastructure. Most recently, he managed the company’s 24/7 technical support, client services, account management, and professional services, as well as its EQUELLA North America and Europe consulting and Thirdway businesses.  John also brings a unique perspective from the front of the classroom having been a teacher in the Atlanta Public Schools system.

Carey, who is returning to our team, is a veteran when it comes to education marketing.  She spent a number of years providing marketing expertise to some of Datamark’s and eCollege’s largest customer institutions.  She also brings a great deal of insight having held leadership positions at Colorado Technical University and Ultimate Medical Academy.

Our newly expanded leadership team leverages the impressive expertise of those who have been with us for quite some time, as well as those who joined us following our acquisition of Altius Education last fall. The team also includes:

  • Rick Bentz, Senior Vice President, Business Intelligence
  • Barbara Hubert, Executive Director, Project Management
  • Scott Lomas, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships
  • Eric Muhlheim, CFO
  • Brenda Robertson, Vice President, Enrollment Operations
  • Pankaj Sharma, Vice President, Product and Engineering
  • Steve Winchester, CMO and Vice President of Student Marketing

We’ve talked about our new vision under Helix Education – to help higher education institutions more effectively find, enroll, retain and teach students. We believe we have the leadership team in place to execute on it and are looking forward to delivering the technology, the data, and the services that impact the student life cycle.
