Low-income families who depend on these services to keep up and get ahead academically have been set back during COVID. All while high-income families are increasing their extracurricular supplements through online courses, classes and programs.

The takeaway? The new technologies and pedagogical experiments coming out of the pandemic are exciting. But if only the most fortunate students are able to access these, are we exacerbating the very problem public education is missionally designed to solve?
