How will physical-dependent courses translate online?
Reported by Inside Higher Ed, NYU’s new master’s in integrated digital media is testing the waters, with faculty designing creative solutions for evaluating physical art projects traditionally designed in an on-campus lab.
Through the student’s own documentation of the process using photos and videos, as well as live video conferencing to demonstrate usability of the piece, and online peer critiques, faculty are designing new ways to facilitate effective courses online.
The takeaway? With more and more students choosing the flexibility of online, more and more of our programs need to find a way to get creative and get there, too.
