So how do we connect students with each other? Some faculty are using discussion prompts on their LMS to facilitate that student-to-student discussion, with survey data showing how activities like this do indeed increase their feelings of connection with their peers. But is that alone enough?

The takeaway? We may still be underestimating the social nature of higher education, and in all our technological pursuits at providing a better online experience for our students, likely need to spend a whole lot more time on this problem.
