34 million post-traditional learners. That is the number of Americans over the age of 25 that Eduventures reports as having some college credit but no diploma. How will our industry need to evolve recruitment and retention strategies in order to better serve these post-traditional learners?
The ACE 98th Annual Meeting gets underway in San Francisco this week, and it’s shaping up to be the go-to event for nearly 2,000 presidents, chancellors and senior-level administrators to exchange ideas about recruitment and retention in the face of the ever-increasing post-traditional student market.
As post-traditional students become the new traditional students, it’s no longer business as usual. Our team is set to take the stage in two Focus Zone sessions that will help colleges and universities understand this emerging population and put into place the kinds of strategies necessary to successfully recruit and retain these learners:
One University, One Voice: How Integrated Marketing is Shaping the Future of Higher Ed
Led by our VP of Creative and Marketing Strategy, Seth Odell, who hails from SNHU and UCLA, this session will explore the marriage of brand and direct marketing, and how colleges and universities are relying on this approach to create relevancy, deliver the right messages and personalize outreach. Odell will share his insight on how communicating brands through integrated campaigns doesn’t just build awareness, but actually drives business.
Meet the Institutions and Post-Traditional Learners of Tomorrow
Diving into the significant shift that the industry is experiencing in leaner demographics, Regional VP Chris Edwards will help educators better understand the nuances and expectations of this group – what they want in an institution, how they use technology, the kinds of programs they gravitate towards, and their overall motivations. Discussion will include game changing technologies, data analytic processes, and online program management strategies to attract and retain more post-traditional students.
Additionally, our executive team will be on-site fostering a much needed dialog with academic thought leaders about the future of recruitment and retention. We are exhibiting in booth #604 at the event, which runs March 12th-15th.
Are you prepared to recruit and retain the abundance of post-traditional learners seeking higher education in the coming years? We invite you to find us at ACE2016 to learn more. You can’t miss us. We’ll be the ones in the orange shoes.
