T.J. brings a keen legal perspective from his work on education product releases and institutional contracts.

At Helix Education, we are continuing to build our team with experts from the education space. One of our latest hires is no exception.

We are thrilled to welcome T.J. Crowson as our General Counsel. T.J., who has fifteen years of experience in corporate law with nearly a decade spent in the education technology space, is no stranger to some of our Helix Education insiders, having worked with several of our team members in the past. T.J. knows the EdTech industry well, and brings a keen legal perspective from his work on education product releases and institutional contracts.

T.J. joins our team from Pearson where he served as Associate General Counsel overseeing all legal affairs for the company’s global higher education business. While at Pearson, he also served as Vice President of Legal Affairs and Technology Partnerships where he developed and managed Pearson’s Technology Partner program, in addition to supporting platform initiatives, technology development and acquisition, customer licensing, OPM, and higher education relationships.

T.J.’s in-house counsel experience includes roles at online learning company eCollege (which was acquired by Pearson), ERP software firms PeopleSoft and JD Edwards, media/cable company Media One and energy company Total Petroleum. T.J. is a Longhorn at heart, having earned his JD and B.B.A from The University of Texas at Austin.

Matthew Schnittman

Matthew is President and CEO of Helix Education. With an extensive background in education technology, Matthew has led some of the most forward-thinking institutional leaders to develop and implement game changing solutions, including large online learning programs and student data management systems. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona, and holds an MBA from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
