From University Library to Maker-Space

From university library to maker-space, a physical transformation is happening on our campuses.

Reported by EdSurge, once judged by the size of their collections, the modern university library is now being valued for how well it helps our students navigate the information age.

With some institutions transforming their physical collections into maker-spaces, innovation studios, and wellness centers in order to remain relevant for the 21st century learner and campus, even seemingly “modern” computer labs are being replaced with laptop share systems given how quickly and universal personal devices have become.

The takeaway? Our libraries must continue to transform if we want them to remain the innovation hub on our campuses – a place both physical and digital where our students come to learn and grow.
