Reported by The Chronicle of Higher Education, industry not-for-profit Workcred believes the bachelor’s degree should be reimagined, with the new 3-legged stool being the academic degree, work-based learning, and an industry-recognized credential.

The takeaway? Embedding industry-credentials and certifications into our degree programs seems like the easiest win-win imaginable. It maintains our degree programs as the primary market signal, while making sure we’re incorporating the certs leading employers are looking for directly within our higher value package. But how do we make sure both students and employers still see the value in our broader premium?
