Can VR college tours increase brand affinity?

Reported by EdSurge, many are wondering if the “If I can just get them on-campus for a tour, I can get them” might translate to the digital world?

Technology is now getting good enough where 360-degree videos of powerful on-campus experiences can be experienced digitally in an emotionally powerful way through a virtual reality headset – or even just the student’s own smartphone through a cheap tool like Google Cardboard. In some cases, these videos can even provide a superior experience to a live campus tour that relies on whatever’s happening live on campus at that very moment.

The takeaway? Can we utilize new technology to maximize the amount of students who have that on-campus “experience”, even digitally, and are able to start “picturing” themselves at our institutions?

May you continue to fight the good enrollment growth fight at your institution today, and we’ll see you again tomorrow.
