What if every single college didn’t try to do every single thing on their own?
Reported by Inside Higher Ed, Amherst, Bowdoin, Carleton, Pomona, Swarthmore, and Williams Colleges are teaming up for 1-stop admission events, offering joint virtual events, speaking about the benefits of liberal arts colleges to students, parents, and counselors.
The takeaway? While these sessions won’t cover specifics of admission decisions or financial aid, there is a whole lot of overlap in terms of the shared academic experience they have created at their institutions. So why does every institution need to recreate the wheel for every event and communication, and instead, why don’t they jump in the same car together? It will be fascinating to see if this starts a broader trend toward shared events moving forward.
