As Chief Product Officer, Steve brings a wealth of general management and technology leadership from several industries—higher education, global food service, technology, and consulting—to his role at Helix Education.

Having spent nearly 11 years with DeVry University, serving in a variety of roles, he was most recently the dean of the College of Continuing Education, New Programs, and Outreach. He was responsible for establishing and growing the university’s continuing education programs. Steve also led efforts to design and develop the university’s competency-based learning initiative and initial MOOC offerings.

In addition, Steve was responsible for new academic program development, the 21st Century Classroom technology initiative, and academic outreach including international relations and the university’s study abroad program. Previously, he held leadership roles in operations, IT/data analytics, student finance, program management, process improvement, and student services—supporting both campus and online students. He was also responsible for the design and implementation of the university’s Student Central organization, the 2012 Stevie Silver Award winner for innovation in customer service, as well as support of the overall DeVry Education Group customer service strategy.

Prior to DeVry University, Steve served in administrative, program management, technology, consulting, and operations roles for several major companies including Anderson Consulting, McDonald’s Corporation, TeraSys, and Waer Systems, Inc.

Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Lake Forest College and an MBA from Northern Illinois University. He is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
